What do you mean by weak spark? Is the engine turning over at all? What does the carb or petro have to do with the problem? Is it just clicking when you try to turn the motor over? A little more specific info could be of use. The problem could be as simple as corrosion on the battery cable post. I had that problem once, puzzled me for a bit, turned out to be minor.
